Meet Elaine Simpson | Founder of Kensho Boutique Pilates
I’m Elaine Simpson, the founder of Kensho Boutique Pilates in Morningside. After years of high-impact exercise, I found Pilates and immediately fell in love. It showed me that strength and empowerment don’t have to come from heavy weights or intense strain, it can be achieved with control, precision, and thoughtful movement.
I’ve spent the last seven years teaching Pilates with a focus on one main goal: helping women build a body that stays strong, independent, and capable for the long term. My teaching is built on a foundation of extensive training, standing on the shoulders of the Pilates greats. I treat Pilates as a complete system that we aim to uphold, but I approach it with a contemporary, practical lens for women’s health. This means focusing not just on general fitness, but on the mental resilience and physical autonomy we need as we age.
I am particularly passionate about sharing this with women over 40 who want to feel strong, confident, and pain-free. A big part of my work involves strengthening the parts of the body that are often forgotten but are essential for balance, like our feet. From the ground up, to the mental focus required to move well, I work with you to shore up the foundations that keep you moving confidently.
At Kensho, it’s about finding joy in movement and awakening your body and mind. I want to help you discover your strength, unlock new levels of flexibility and mobility, and build a body that supports you in everything you do.
